editorial photography
What is editorial Photography. Editorial Fashion Photography is a genre of photography that captures fashion in its various forms. Fashion photography has many meanings and sun genres. Editorial fashion photography is often seen in magazines and blogs as images. Editorial image tells the story of a person, outfit, a place or event in beautiful photographs.
Photographs can play a crucial role in brand developing and marketing – anyone with at least a bit of knowledge of visual content will tell you that. Images can make it possible for potential customers to notice and focus on your brand. What is more, they come in handy to show its background, encouraging and fostering greater interest in it.
Ever since I remember mysfel I was drawing and painting, was always attracted to visual arts. I could visits museums after museum and stare at painting forever. later I started to take pictures of everything interesting, strange, beautiful that I’ve seen on my way and I’ve been collecting those pictures over years. I have also spent some sleepless nights considering how to visualize wordplays and other things I became obsessed with, because I always wanted to show OR create parallels and I didn’t even know why I felt so.
Coming up with an idea. You might be lucky and already have a grounded idea of what you want: a look, a feel, and an atmosphere you want to achieve. It’s good to have inspiration on your side! Ideas of clothing, hair and make up will all help get the best result, even if it doesn’t turn out exactly how it is in your head. Actually, a lot of times it does’t turn exactly how you pictured it. The planning is a start, something to begin from… and then… then the sky is the limit ( but within your theme of corse)
Start a mood Board. This is where something like Pinterest is one of the greatest creations on earth! Sign up, you won’t regret it! You can search right there on Pinterest or go and explore some other websites and even hard copy magazines, but search a lot, because the more images you find, the more inspired you are. Agencies will send out models just for tests, but when it comes to editorials, it’s a good idea to send them the mood board as well,
Models and Creative Team.
If you are just beginning the road of Fashion and Editorial Photography you need to develop your portfolio. Here is what I would suggest:
I’d sugget Model Mayhem. I used to use that site a lot in the begging. It can be really great for this at the beginning. You can find models with little or big expirience there. But be cautious: models on this site can sometimes be not exactly serious about the shoot. You don’t want, the morning of your shoot, to find your model can’t make it. Agency models is really where you want to be of course.
